WINDOW CURTAIN SHOPPING TIPS
When shopping for curtains and drapery you need to consider your style, taste, and color preferences in addition to material selection etc. However, people usually seem to do well in these areas; it's the measuring which seems to often be the biggest issue. Therefore, before you buy anything make sure you know what you're working with and what you "really" want. We recommend you measure both the height and width of both the inside and outside of the window casing since your initial plans may change during the shopping process. Also, make sure you measure with a metal measuring tape for accuracy. Keep in mind that curtain hardware should usually extend about two inches on each side of the frame for outside mounts, and that the width of a curtain rod does not include the finials. Plan up to two to four times the fabric width of your window for a full look. Also, lighter weight fabrics will make the curtains look lighter, and heavier fabrics will make them look heavier.
